ISABEL STOREY is a Democratic activist and legislative advocate on the forefront of fighting for progressive values. Her priorities include a clean environment, promoting affordable housing and reducing homelessness, healthcare for all, protecting reproductive rights, and defending our democracy.
A three-term California Democratic Delegate, Isabel is an active member of the Environmental, Women’s and Progressive Caucuses. As part of her legislative advocacy, she secured the state party's endorsement of landmark bills to reduce single-use plastics in California and to make the second year of community college free.
Isabel also holds leadership roles in Indivisible: California StateStrong, Indivisible Westside Los Angeles, and Santa Monica Democratic Club. She has also coordinated voter mobilization events over the last three cycles for key California House races.
For California Indivisible, as leader of the Healthcare & Reproductive Rights Workgroup, she spearheaded advocacy for a number of bills, including one that significantly expanded Medi-Cal coverage and another that prohibits enforcement of out-of-state abortion restrictions in California. She’s also been an ally on the front lines with California Indivisible’s Green Team on environmental legislation, including in its battle to push back against restrictions on rooftop solar.
As an Assembly District Leader (AD-51) for the California Nurses campaign, Isabel has led our district’s fight for CalCare, a single-payer healthcare system in California. This campaign has resulted in dozens of cities and counties across the state passing resolutions in support of single-payer healthcare. It has also secured endorsements from dozens of legislators whose support will be crucial as we continue the fight this year for a single-payer system that guarantees comprehensive healthcare for all Californians.
As Legislative VP of Santa Monica Democratic Club, Isabel has led advocacy for state bills on affordable housing, protecting rent control, divesting from fossil fuels, expanding access to healthcare, reducing student loan debt, and political reform. She was particularly gratified to see the passage of two important bills: One that resulted in the creation of California’s first public bank here in Los Angeles – and another that cleared the way to return Bruce’s beach in Huntington Beach to the family of the black owners from whom it was illegally seized 100 years ago.
Please vote for Isabel so that she can continue her work for a cleaner environment, healthcare for all, equal educational opportunity, and a just and equitable society.
